Did you see the spoof on Titanic on SNL? {w/Bill Paxton}greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread |
Last night "Saturday Night Live" had Bill Paxton hosting. I'm pretty sure it was actually live, not a rerun. One skit was a re-enactment of the end where old Rose is saying, "So now you know there was a Jack Dawson.." Bill Paxton goes, "That's great, Rose, we've listened to 3 hours of this crap, but where's this diamond??" Rose tries pulling every excuse possible, saying, "A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets..", saying, "Oh I'm losing my vision" and trying to get away, etc. Then Bill started beating her up, and Lizzi comes to her defense. Bill mentions that the diamond is worth $20 million, and Lizzi says, "You mean I've been waitressing at Pizza Hut all this time while you had this??" and starts beating her up too. Hilarious. It ends with a video of Cameron sitting in a chair saying, "What you've seen is the original ending to Titanic..." and he ends by lighting a 100-dollar bill with his lit cigar. Apparently there was another spoof months ago with Gloria Stuart, but I missed that. It may already be described here. Did any of you see the one I described? Comments?

I absolutely cannot believe I missed it! Nooo! I must have been watching Mad T.V. at the time. I never miss an episode! I wish I had seen it; while I was watching Bill Paxton host the opening I was hoping they would spoof Titanic. However, I did see the Gloria Stuart one. She was leaning over the railing, pretending to be flying when she pulls out the diamond and throws it into the water. Actually, I don't remember the punch line; as I recall I hardly laughed. It was something along those lines; not hilariously funny, though. I don't quite remember the whole thing. Did anyone see the Mad tv "Titanic: the Love Boat" episode? It was really funny; like a soap opera. It wasn't harmful or disrespectful, either. I'm sorry, but I don't remember the details! I'm really going on about nothing. :-) Well, did anyone else see it?

I saw the skit...still LOL. I wonder if because I watched SNL with Bill Paxton hosting it means I watched it JUST BECAUSE Bill Paxton was hosting. I wondered if anyone knows who it was that was playing the part of Bodine in the skit? I thought the parody was a hoot, especially since a friend and I had been joking that Rose was so mean to keep the necklace, and forcing her granddaughter to work some menial job without the benefit of a huge fortune!
