pay-per-view {Is there a director's cut available?}greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread |
Just wondering- is there a director's cut that is being shown on the pay-per-view channels? I'm asking because I've seen advertisements for the movie with clips/dialogue I did not see in the movie. Maybe I've forgotten, but one example is Cal saying something like, "you act as if you're going to your execution?" Does anyone else remember this from the theater version?

All I know is that the movie has not been on pay-per-view in Ottawa, Canada, yet, as I saw no ads on the TV. But I don't remember that line in the movie, only in the script. It would be a great idea to get some extra scenes from the movie, unseen in theatres, but I sincerely doubt... They might try to resell the movie in ayear or so and then try to boost thier video sales by including "never before seen" scenes.

I would without a doubt go and buy the movie with added scenes in it. I've been waiting, as are others, I'm sure, to see a director's cut, and I'm sure people like me would buy the movie again and send sales through the roof just to see added scenes! I do hope they do something like that. And I was quite suprised to see that Cameron didn't release Titanic for its "1 year Anniversary" on Dec. 19th. I would have gone to see it, and I'm sure others would have too. They should release Titanic again sometime soon in the theaters. I'd like to marvel at this beautiful movie on the big screen, once again, as I did countless times before. :-)

The "execution" line was in the theatrical release. It was near the beginning, when Cal and Rose are getting ready to board and Rose makes the comment that Titanic does not look any bigger than Mauretania.Regards, Peter

Well, here I go jumping the gun again! After I posted the previous, I viewed the film again and that line is NOT in the theatrical release, much to my surprise. It is, however, in the trailer and that is what made me think it was in the final product. My apologies for the misinformation.Regards, Peter
