Introducing Mr. Vaz: a human tragedygreenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread |
NOTE: this message's grammage wasn't approved by JoustGod yet ;-)Hi guys, since I don't know anyone of you, it seems to me a good idea to introduce myself, so you'll always know who's the moron who beat your hiscore :-) I was born in 1977, and soon I began to examine those "arcades" (dunno it's the correct word). I don't remember which was the first one (maybe Turbo or Asteroids), but I know my first high score was in 1983 (Dragon's Lair). I've been a fierce possessor of many home computers (but I even had Odyssey 100!), such as Vic 20 (the very first one), Mattel Aquarius and Commodore 64, who "died" in 1993 (after loading Jack the Nipper, don't know if you remember). My adventure with an IBM began on Xmas 1996, with a very old 386sx/20, REALLY slow!, which gave me the chance to play classics like Prince of Persia and Lemmings, but refused to make work others like Syndicate and Transport Tycoon.. Last year I threw it out of a window and bought a 486DLC/40!!! Wow!!! Still I can't play no emus, but there's no problem, 'cause the BIG one is elsewhere... you have to know I work in a consulting firm, and last May my boss bought a P2/233; he gave it to me (I'm in charge of the data processing system), and since he's my father-in-law... you know, sometimes I can play Metal Slug 2 :-) My favourite games are: Thundercade, Twin Eagle, Splatter House (my hiscore is 333,700 can you do better BBH? :-) ), Creatures 2, Space Ace and Psychic 5. I began to play with MAME in 1995 (and Sparcade even before), and now I face the tragedy: the BIG one had some sotware problem, so we had to FORMAT the whole hard drive! Ouch!! Lots o' roms flied away... now I have to re-download everything but Metal Slug 2 and Gameboy's ones, so I think I'll be off a few days... Well, now you know who I am (really?): and who cares? ;-)

don't worry Vaz, my only experience with SplatterHouse was getting to play it a bit on a friend's TG-16... never saw the arcade version.Of the games you listed, the only one I also really love is Psychic 5. But I'd never even seen it before in my life until MAME! I got addicted to it rather easily, and discovered most of the secret bonus locations on my own, through a lot of intense playing... (highest score so far is 7.1 million. hee)
