Consider Idaho. Maybe this will be a trend?

Thanks Gayla. Not only State governments have the problem but the DOD, CIA, NSA, et. al. *Sigh*

Gayla, Idaho certainly seems to be on the leading edge of some y2k issues. I recently read that Idaho is the only state whose medicaid program is already y2k compliant. You need to also understand that the Capitol city of Boise is also home to several company's world headquarters. That may explain why so many techies have gone to the private sector. Another thread indicates that one area (45 miles from Boise) may not have power for up to 3 months. It does not mention if Idaho Power is the provider. I am not sure of smaller local providers, so it may mean that Iaho Power is anticipating shortages for up to 3 months. this would affect all of southern Idaho and parts of other border states.

Thanks, Bill. What you said about southern Idaho made me wonder about something. I haven't seen anyone at all mention National Parks. Wonder what would happen to them if power was lost for 3 months? Fortunately for Yellowstone, it's HUGE. But, I imagine lots of those buffalo would become someone's dinner!
