Up until a couple of months ago, Ed Yardeni shared top billing on Y2K as it relates to the economy. While I was getting a little tired of hearing from just the top "experts" (with my aplogies to Ed Yourdon), I'm now wondering what happened to Yardeni. Anyone heard from or about him? Has his prediction of a worldwide recession increased (I believe his last was 60 precent likelihood)?

Just wondering if he was trying to tone down his message (or maybe his boss is grumbling)...

The last I heard, he puts the prediction of worldwide recession at 70%.

Yardeni's a hero, as far as I'm concerned. Boston Globe article on him recently provided a clear picture of a man who has absolutely no monetary reason to be warning people about Y2K, but who is doing so anyway. He's doing the right thing and for that, he deserves our respect and gratitude. Telling people what they DO NOT want to hear (and getting them to hear and heed) is a very difficult task.
