has anyone ever transfered emulsion to a plaster or stone? or is there a substance to paint on stone or plaster so that emulsion would stick to it. If any one has is the image stable and for how long. thanks to anyone who knows anything.

"I've done emulsion transfers onto unglazed tile, marble and granite. I did not paint anything on it initially, just used them au natural and had no problems with the emulsion adhering to them. Image stability is a continuous issue and certainly depends upon the surface material. I would think that most stone materials are neutral, but I may be mistaken on that. The ones I did (over 2 years ago) seem to be fine. They have not been displayed in sunlight, however. Have not tried plaster and know nothing about it's PH." Also tried glazed tiles and they worked just fine.

i have done emulsion transfer to stone. if you do it while the emulsion and the rock is wet, you don't need anything to stick the emulsion on the stone. i had one sitting out side in the sun, wind, rain, etc and it didn't even last a week. i have another one that i did and kept it indoors out of direct sunlight and it has survived one year,so far. i did spray the rock with clear enamel paint to seal it, but it looked kinda dumb to have a big shiny rock. i wished i wouldn't have sprayed it with clear enamel paint and i won't ever do THAT again.

i transferred emulsion to an blown out eggshell... never got to find out how long it lasted, someone broke it about 3 months later. doh.
