I read a posting on the Countdown To Titanic (C2T) messageboard about full day program on "Titanic" at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC this Saturday, Sept. 26. Speakers include: Rob Legato, Don Lynch, Ken Marschall, and several others. There is an admission fee of $40(?). Sorry I don't remember all the details, but I wanted to post this in case anyone lives near there and is interested in going. Check out the C2T posting for details!!

Hi, Kathleen. I was unsuccessful in learning more details, after calling up the Smithsonian, whose recordings didn't reflect this event, and checking C2T, where I didn't find anything. So if it did happen, I missed it. Wah! Hopefully that was misinformation! $40 is kind of steep anyway. Tks for the info, though.

Sorry about the vagueness of the original posting. I just assume that everyone knows about the Countdown to Titanic (C2T) website. Use your browser's search engine to locate the address for this site and open yourself to a messageboard and a wealth of "Titanic" and Titanic info and links.

About this Smithsonian program, it did happen. A young lady named La Toyla has posted one message about who was there (Ed Marsh, Robert Legato, Don Lynch, Ken Marschall) and has posted some details about Ed's presentation. She will post more if there is interest.

Kathleen, I did go to the messageboard there, but didn't find any heading on this event. Hmmm..what to do..Bob is displeased...Next time you're there maybe you can tell me the date of the heading and the title. I gotta learn the system! Tks

Keeping in mind that headings are like article titles and not subject headings in a card catalog.....check out "It was so cool!!!" on 9/27 and "So, do you want to hear about the Smithsonian seminar?" on 9/28. Make sure that you are accessing the messageboard from the page at: http://countingdown.com/c2t/countdown_to_titanic.html and selecting "messageboard" from near the bottom of the menu on the left side of the page.
