A new program called "Beyond Titanic" is scheduled to air on the A&E (Arts & Entertainment) cable network on Sunday, September 6 at 9 pm EDT (repeating at 1 am EDT the next morning). According to TV Guide, "Beyond Titanic" covers "books and movies about the 1912 disaster." I've been in touch with the film production company that is putting this program together and this is how it was described to me: "Beyond Titanic focuses on the aftermath of the ship's sinking and the phenomenon resulting from the tragedy. It will explore how the event altered lives and inspired works of fiction that have captured the hearts and minds of subsequent generations." Sounds like you won't want to miss this program--it may be the last new "Titanic" show of the year!!!

Katherine, the show was great! And I did see your name in the credits at the end! Go, girl! I'm proud of ye! I also saw "Jim's Titanic Site" or something similar. We gotta get Thomas' site in these shows!! I did not know there were this many Titanic movies out there, goodness. Katherine, I feel this show brings me full circle with you because we first met when you emailed me after seeing my remark about Victor Garber on this site, and he narrated the show tonite (and did a great job of it). Especially interesting to me was that Melvina Dean, one of the few living survivors in good mental health, refused to see Cameron's flick even if in a private viewing with just Prince Charles or by herself! Very interesting show, and thanks again for helping out with the production. Are you signing autographs?

Thanks, Bob, for your comments!!! It was really a wonderful feeling to see some of my newspapers and magazines, along with my name in the credits, on the screen. And I thought the whole program was terrific!!! It really brought together the complete Titanic pop culture phenomenon showing that it has never been far from the nation's conscious through the years. Van Ness Films did a wonderful job....it really puts the icing on the cake for such a terrific year following James Cameron's "Titanic"!!!!
