Has anyone else listened to the CD "Music Aboard the Titanic?" It contains selections from the White Star songbook and was composed by Carl Wolfe.

I haven't heard the disc you're referring to, but I just purchased "Titanic: Music As Heard on the Fateful Voyage" by Ian Whitcomb and the "White Star Orchestra." This disc has a number of tunes from the White Star playbook of the era, including Songe d'Automne, which many scholars believe was the last tune played by Titanic's gallant musicians.

The disc is on the Rhino label, ISBN# 1-56826-833-5.

Yes, Natalie. "Music Aboard the Titanic" does contain "Nearer, My God, to Thee." The liner notes contain the following passage: "The British version of Nearer, My God, to Thee," which is known to have been bandleader and violinist Wallace Hartley's favorite hymn, is performed on this recording. The short, solo violin at the end of the piece is in Hartley's honor."
