welcome to the pets forum. I have a dog and three birds one bird is a cockatiel and the other two are parakeets. my dog is a cocker spaniel and collie mix.

I have 3 cats, one of whom is elderly.
He has taken to yowling at me ... if he were human I'd say he was complaining, but I can't tell. I mean, he yowls A LOT, and he has always been a quiet cat.

How does one tell if an elderly cat is just cranky, or needs something he can't express?
